David Lyon, MD

Dr. David Lyon is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (the area of ophthalmology that deals with diseases and surgery of the eyelids and upper face, the tear drainage system and the eye socket). He performs cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in the ocular region on patients of all ages. He has been in practice since 1989 and moved to the Kansas City area to join the Sabates Eye Centers in 1994. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Lyon serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Eye Foundation of Kansas City and Department of Ophthalmology, University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine. His faculty responsibilities include teaching ophthalmology residents in ophthalmic plastic surgery and conducting clinical research. He has authored numerous scientific papers, journal articles and textbook chapters on various aspects of his subspecialty.
